Description: A black and white postcard showing the east, or entrance front of Nostell Priory, at Nostell near Wakefield. This house was built for the Winn family in the Palladian architectural style by James Paine after 1735. This postcard dates from the early 1900s, and is postmarked 1906. Shortly afterwards in 1910, the 2nd Baronet Saint Oswald, replaced the woodwork balustrade on the steps leading to the first floor or Top Hall with longer lasting stone arches.
