War Service

The Wakefield Express of January 1916 reported that Private A Else of Avenue Buildings, Crofton was suffering from gas poisoning along with Private J Else of the same address. KOYLI casualty lists refer to A Else as “Anthony”. It says that he enlisted into the 1st/4th Battalion KOYLI at Wakefield and was killed in action on 3rd November 1916.
He is buried at the Hebuterne Military Cemetery.
