“ARMY FOOTBALL
Private Charles Harrison, the son of Mr and Mrs C Harrison of Doncaster Road, Ferrybridge, who is stationed in Ceylon, has been chosen to represent the British Army against the Netherland Forces in an inter-services football knock-out competition. Pte Harrison has been in the Army for just over 3 -½ years. He spent nearly two years in Egypt and 3 months in India before going to Ceylon. A keen footballer, he was for two seasons captain of Ferrybridge Amateurs Club and possesses eight cups.”
