He is also recorded on a memorial stone with his parents in Ferrybridge Municipal Cemetery.

George Brown was born on 11th March 1896, the son of Tom and Lily Shaw, who married on 26th March 1894 at St Andrew’s Church, Ferrybridge. In the 1911 census he is shown to be a Grocer’s Assistant, living at Lingard’s Buildings, Ferrybridge with his parents and siblings.
