War Service

Harry Barratt was part of the 1st Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment when he became missing from 14th October 1944 age 21. He is commemorated at Overloon War Cemetery, Netherlands.
The South Lancashire Regiment took part in some of the bitterest fighting in the campaign around Overloon and Venray between 12 – 18 October 1944.

Family Life

Harry was born in the first quarter of 1923 and his birth was registered at Pontefract. He was the son of Harry Barratt and Annie A (Née Carr) who had married in the fourth quarter of 1921 and this again was registered at Pontefract.
