Christ Church, Knottingley, 1970s

A black and white photograph showing the remains of Christ Church, Knottingley, after it was set on fire by vandals, prior to its demolition in the early 1970s.  Charred timbers can be seen in the foreground, with the stone wall of the church behind.  The walls containing the three arched window apertures was the east wall at the altar and of the church, which was first built in 1840.  Internal Reference: Private Collection
