The Wakefield District Heritage Framework sets out Wakefield Council's vision, priorities and ambitions for heritage across the district.

Developed through extensive consultation in 2022-23, the framework reflects the views of local communities, heritage organisations, councillors, council staff and site managers. Led by Heritage Lincolnshire, the engagement helped identify the principles, themes and objectives that will guide future heritage activity and investment across Wakefield district.

The framework is designed for everyone with an interest in local heritage, including residents, community groups, organisations, volunteers, businesses and public sector partners. It provides a shared direction for protecting, celebrating and promoting our rich and diverse heritage.
