The Wakefield District Heritage Network is a free network for anyone involved in, or interested in getting involved with, heritage activities across the district.

Whether you're a volunteer, community group, heritage organisation, researcher or simply passionate about local history, the network provides opportunities to learn, share knowledge and connect with others.

Members can access training, events and updates, while building relationships with other people and organisations working to celebrate, protect and promote Wakefield district's heritage through local meetings and information sharing.

To join the Network, all we ask is that you:

  • are actively involved in heritage within Wakefield district

  • are willing to attend and contribute to network meetings and activities

  • sign up to the Network’s code of conduct

  • pledge to be a heritage ambassador for our district in whatever way works for you
