Harry Wild was in the 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment when he died on 21st March 1918. He had enlisted at Knottingley. As he has no known grave he is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France panel 23 and 24. The www.roll-of-honour.com says that Henry “Harry” was born in Ferrybridge and was a resident there.

Henry (Harry) Wild was born on 15th April 1893, the son of Henry and Sarah Jane Wild nee Banks. They had married in the third quarter of 1891 and this was registered at Pontefract.
In the 1911 census Harry was a Potter, living at Fishergate with his parents and siblings.
