Family Life

Walter Wright was born in Ferrybridge on 16th December 1877, the youngest of at least 13 children born to John Stacey Wright and Elizabeth Wright. John Stacey Wright and Elizabeth Buxton married on 8th June 1851 at St Giles Church, Pontefract.
In the 1901 census he is shown as a Pottery Labourer living with his widowed mother Elizabeth at Fishergate, Ferrybridge. Sometime after her death in 1906 he moved to Stockton on Tees and in the 1911 census he is recorded as being a Shipyard Labourer, boarding with joseph Teague and his wife Mary Hannah. I believe Mary Hannah was formerly Mary Hannah Stacey from Ferrybridge, who would be a relative of Walter Wright.
